Westminster Students Shine at International Hackathon 2025, Secure Third Position

Kupandole, Lalitpur: Students from The Westminster College showcased their exceptional problem-solving skills at the “Problem-Solving International Hackathon- 2025”, held on February 25, 2025. Competing against teams from prestigious institutions, ‘Team A’ from Westminster College secured 3rd position overall with an impressive score of 64 points, marking them as the top-performing team from Nepal.

The event saw participation from a total of 74 teams representing the School of Computer Science and Engineering (University of Westminster, London), Informatics Institute of Technology (Colombo), Westminster International University (Tashkent), and The Westminster College (Lalitpur). The competition was hosted simultaneously at all four partner institutions, fostering international collaboration and innovation.

Westminster's ‘Team A’, consisting of Abhishek Dhungana, Rishav Maharjan, Danis Rai, and Suprim Karki, tackled complex problem-solving challenges with tact and expertise, ultimately achieving their remarkable placement. The top three positions were secured by WIUT Kharezmi Team (71 points), IIT Rising Tech Dragons & WIUT Lazarus Team (65 points), and The Westminster College TWC Team A (64 Points), respectively.

The international hackathon was more than just a competition – it was a global intellectual showdown, pushing boundaries and fostering a culture of inclusive technological advancement. The Westminster College extends its heartfelt congratulations to all winners and takes immense pride in the outstanding performance of our Level 3 students.
